opportunities with Institute for Women's Leadership



I am writing to invite you to consider applying to one of the Institute for Women’s Leadership’s (IWL) outstanding leadership programs that are now recruiting for Fall 2018! The IWL is an nine-member consortium at Rutgers dedicated to examining issues of leadership and advancing women's leadership and involvement in decision making in all arenas. Please see below for further information about the Leadership Scholars Program, the WINGS program, and the CLASP internship program. WINGS is an 8 month college-to-career women’s mentoring program that matches undergraduate women with senior level professional women. Students are engaged in professional development workshops, networking opportunities, and 1-on-1 mentoring to help launch their career. Current 1st-year, 2nd-year, and 3rd-year students of all majors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher are encouraged to apply for the 2018- 2019 program. Companies participating in the 2018- 2019 program include, Johnson & Johnson, PSEG, and Wells Fargo. Our early application deadline is March 1, 2018.

The Leadership Scholars Program is a selective two-year, 19-credit award-winning certificate program that prepares students to be informed, innovative, and socially responsible leaders. Participating students have the opportunity to be placed in career building internships of their choice and attend intimate seminars with key Rutgers faculty and international women leaders. Our early application deadline is February 1, 2018 and early applicants are given interview priority and possible early acceptance. Our final application deadline is March 1, 2018. The Leadership Scholars Program is open to all students and we encourage applications from LGBTQ students, students of color, transfer students, students with disabilities, non-traditional students and veterans.

CLASP is a five-week summer service learning and community development program. Students have the opportunity to be placed into local NJ internships that focus on, but are not limited to, youth empowerment, arts education, public health, literacy, and domestic violence prevention.
