JOB DESCRIPTION

Editing and Publishing Science Associate for the Research Institute for Fragrance Materials

Primary Responsibilities Include:


· Assisting the editor-in-chief with the overall process for editing and publishing of RIFM Fragrance Ingredient Safety Assessments

· Contributing to the work of writing and editing scientific documents

· Assisting with the timely preparation of all manuscripts and responses to reviewer comments

· Serving as the RIFM associate editor to maintain a high-quality written scientific output.


Qualifications:


Required


· Science degree (BS or MS in biology, chemistry, or toxicology)

· Ability to interpret and communicate scientific information and data in a clear and concise manner

· Familiarity with the basic principles of toxicology and chemistry

· Communication skills for interactions with staff scientists, management, and publisher representatives

· Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic collaborative environment with demanding deadlines

· Flexibility to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

· Strong attention to detail

· Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook



Preferred



· Experience editing and publishing of scientific material

· Extensive knowledge of English grammar

· Working familiarity with AMA style

· Ability to conduct literature searches

· Full-time position

· Flexible work schedule with the ability to work remotely one day per week; however, candidates currently within commuting distance of RIFM will be given preference.
