Summer Environmental Jobs

Help us get the word out to your students about our summer campaign jobs working to protect the Shore and New Jersey's clean water!

I'm writing again to ask if you could once again help us get the word out to students about Environment New Jersey's summer campaign jobs. Environment New Jersey is a statewide citizen based environmental advocacy group that works to protect our clean air, clean water, and open space. This summer we are working to protect the Jersey Shore and all of New Jersey's waterways from pollution. I got started working with the organization when I was a Junior at Rutgers and wanted to find a way to make a difference, and I've been doing it ever since - now I'm the Field Organizer for Environment New Jersey based in Trenton. Every summer I come back up to New Brunswick to run our campaigns and work with talented students.
We also have campaign positions working with NJPIRG on their summer campaign to stop the overuse of antibiotics on factory farms and protect public health.
These are especially great opportunities for students that are living in New Brunswick for the summer; we're a block away from the campus! Could you send a note about our campaign jobs to your students?
I'm pasting a note that can go out to students below.

Thanks so much for your help.

Best regards,

Dan

Subject: Summer Jobs for the Environment!

Environment New Jersey is hiring students to work on our campaigns this summer in New Brunswick, Summit and Ridgewood. We're looking for folks that are hard working, good communicators and committed to making positive change. Sign up for more information here: http://bit.ly/SummerJobsForTheEnvironment

This summer our top campaign is protecting the Jersey Shore and all of New Jersey's waterways.

The Shore is what makes New Jersey great, it's where we go to swim, hang out at the boardwalk or just relax and enjoy the beaches. It's the perfect place to be on a hot summer day.

Unfortunately, reckless development is threatening the Shore, washing pollution and bacteria into nearby streams and marshes— and eventually into the water where we swim and fish. As a result, there were 245 beach closings in 2012 alone. That's why Environment New Jersey is working to convince the EPA to fix the Clean Water Act— by closing loopholes that are leaving our streams and the Shore at risk.
AND to win this campaign we are hiring students across New Jersey to get out into communities, and build support for this issue. Over the course of the summer you can expect to make between $4,000-$6,000 and make $10-$15/HR. It's a great way to build your resume, like an internship, but you get paid.
Additionally you'll also get to work on issues such as fracking, global warming, and clean energy. We also have positions available with our sister organization NJPIRG, working on their campaign to stop the overuse of antibiotics on factory farms and protect public health.
