PhD program in sustainable development at Columbia

Columbia University’s PhD in Sustainable Development will be holding an Info Session event Wednesday, October 18, from 7-8:00 in 1510 International Affairs Building, Columbia University, 420 W 118th St, NY, NY 10027.

The Sustainable Development program prepares its students to tackle the world’s most pressing problems. Housed at Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), students conduct path-breaking research on a diverse set of topics, including climate change and its social consequences, causes and solutions to extreme poverty, energy systems, agricultural transitions, water resources, infectious disease, global demographic change, ecosystems, disasters and conflict (to name a few). The innovative program emphasizes rigorous and quantitative approaches to the natural and social sciences, particularly economics. The program enrolls approximately six students per year and has become the most successful program worldwide of its kind.

Please encourage interested students to visit our website for further information on the program, including application information, or join us for our information session. An event poster is attached.
