Rutgers job for Environmental Specialist

Distribution, Rutgers University has an opening in their EHS Department for an Environmental Specialist. We are looking for someone with the qualifications listed below. The position will report to the main REHS office on the Livingston Campus located in Piscataway, NJ. JobID=4836655&user_id Position Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a physical, chemical, or life science with a minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional work experience. Must be able to wear Self Containing Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and provide emergency response services, as needed (including rotating on-call/off-hours services); OSHA 40-hour hazardous waste site training is required within 6 months of hire. Candidate must possess a valid driver's license. A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with "H" (hazardous material) endorsement is required or must be obtained 6 months after employment. Working knowledge of federal/state hazardous waste and environmental regulation is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to prepare clear, accurate and informative reports containing findings, conclusions, and recommendations, along with superior verbal, written, and interpersonal skills is required. Demonstrated excellent time management skills, familiarity with common computer programs (email, Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint , etc.), and have knowledge of various sampling equipment. Demonstrated judgment to represent the department in interactions with the university community and to seek help from supervisor when needed. This position requires travel to various Rutgers locations throughout the state. Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement.
