Money to study abroad

[[[I got this email today and wanted to share it with you all. It is too late to get funding to study abroad for this coming year, but for the following year (fall 2019 to spring 2020), I want you to know that Rutgers has money to help you if you want to study abroad. Talk to your advisor and the new UPD, Jeffra Schaefer NOW to prepare for 2019-2020 travel.]]]

Dear Members of the Rutgers-New Brunswick Community:

Central to the mission of the RU-1st program, Undergraduate Academic Affairs (UAA) has expanded additional funding opportunities to support first-generation Rutgers–New Brunswick students participating in study abroad. The RU-1st Scholarship was created to alleviate cost, one of the greatest barriers to study abroad. By providing fully-funded opportunities for students to engage in international experiences, this scholarship helps to provide access to high-impact learning opportunities within a truly global classroom.

I am pleased to announce that UAA has awarded 18 students with a scholarship to embark on programs organized, led, and taught by Rutgers faculty and facilitated through a partnership with Rutgers Global. Students will be part of programs that range from two to five weeks, and travel to locations that include Greece, Thailand, France, England, and Italy.

I would like to congratulate the following students who have been awarded the 2018 RU-1st Scholarship:

· Prince Abruquah, School of Arts and Sciences - Engaging with Greece in Transition
