Internships with Musconetcong Watershed Association in Asbury, NJ

The Musconetcong Watershed Association Water Quality Program, in Asbury, NJ, Warren County is seeking an intern to assist in technical field work and data reporting. This internship will support MWA’s research assessing the effects of various types of restoration practices on sediment, nutrients and bacteria levels in the river.

Work will start in early May with possibilities of extending to October 15. This work will involve:
· collecting weekly water samples from the river

· using specialized equipment to measure river velocity and other parameters

· organizing data for reports.

The internship will also provide mentoring as well as networking opportunities—MWA partners with many agencies and non-profits. Interns must be able to work independently and in a team. Preference will be given to students who are:

· on career paths in the environmental sciences or field biology or a related field

· and will be continuing coursework in that area

· live in the Musconetcong Watershed, or close to the MWA headquarters.

Compensation ($10-15/hr) will be based on prior experience and coursework; training will be provided. Both full time and part time work is available.
