Environmental Engineering Graduate Research Assistantships The Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering, Marquette University (Milwaukee, WI) invites applications for Graduate Research Assistantships for Ph.D. or M.S. students to start August 2016. The successful candidates will join research teams in one of three areas. Applicants interested in a research area should contact the faculty member identified: (1) optimization of microbial communities in anaerobic bioprocesses for sustainable, net energy positive water recovery (contact Dr. Daniel Zitomer, daniel.zitomer@mu.edu), (2) recovery of nutrients and disinfection/virus inactivation for reuse while minimizing energy and chemical inputs (contact Dr. Brooke Mayer, brooke.mayer@mu.edu), and (3) impacts of antimicrobials from consumer products and other micropollutants on antibiotic resistance profiles and dynamics in engineered and environmental systems (contact Dr. Patrick McNamara, patrick.mcnamara@mu.edu). Research assistants will receive a competitive monthly stipend and full tuition remission. Applicants should have a B.S. or M.S. in engineering or science, with engineering preferred. Interested students must apply to the Marquette University Graduate School (https://marquette-grad.edu.185r.net/application/login/) before January 1, 2016 and select “Civil Engineering” as the program of interest.
