The Jerome Goldstein Scholarship for EcoEntrepreneurs will support student research interns at the EcoComplex - Rutgers University’s Clean Energy Innovation and Environmental Research & Extension Center, during the summer of 2018. The Goldstein Scholarship was established to support student interns working on projects in the areas of “Sustainability”, “Innovative Clean Energy Systems”, “Waste Management Technologies”, “Life Cycle Analysis (LCA)”, and “Food-Energy-Water Nexus” concepts. This year, we are also encouraging student entrepreneurs for clean energy, environment, and other clean technologies to apply for commercialization training at our clean energy business incubator. Scholarships will be awarded to graduate and undergraduate students based on academic merit. The full-time internships will run from June through August 2018, and will be based at the EcoComplex in Bordentown, NJ. The internships will be designed such that the students will gain valuable scientific, technical and entrepreneurial experience in one or more of the areas mentioned above. Verina Consulting Group, LLC (VERINA), a professional consultancy firm specializing in environmental
management, engineering, remediation and science, is seeking a detail-oriented, well organized,
dependable professional with excellent interpersonal skills to join our team. This position requires strict
adherence to health and safety requirements, attention to detail and established procedures, good work
ethic, and a passion for high quality workmanship.
General Responsibilities:
-- Participate in all aspects of environmental and engineering services including site assessment and
investigation; feasibility studies; field pilot testing; remedial design and actions; remediation
implementation and system operation, maintenance, and monitoring (OMM); system installation
and construction oversight; collection of soil, sediment, surface water, and groundwater samples;
oversight of installation and/or processing of soil cores and soil and groundwater characterization.
-- Conduct statistical data analysis; and multi-media fate and transport modeling.

-- Prepare remedial investigation work plan; engineering design plan and specifications; remedial
action plans; system OMM plans; sampling and analysis plans; and engineering and investigation
reports; and data management, compilation, analysis, and evaluation.
-- Coordinate with regulatory agencies and subcontractors/vendors for project activities.
Basic and Required Qualifications:
-- Minimum 0 to 2 years of professional experience in environmental and engineering fields.
-- Education Required: Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental
Science, Geology or related fields.
-- Skills required: Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and related documentation/computer tools.
-- Desire to pursue environmental consulting as a career path through coursework, internships,
professional work, etc.
-- Interest in performing field activities.
-- Available for business travel for extended periods. A valid driver's license is required for this
position.
Additional and Preferred Qualifications:

Laboratory Technician Opening at Linden Roselle Sewerage Authority

Opening for Laboratory Technician position at major wastewater treatment facility in Linden, NJ. Laboratory is NJDEP certified to analyze 25+ parameters. Position will entail analyzing wastewater and sludge samples for inorganic, microbiological, and metals testing. Responsible for conducting analyses according to standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality control protocol, and EPA/Standard Methods protocols. Required to operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment, including troubleshooting and calibration checks. Prepare chemical reagents and solutions and microbiological media for analysis. Preserve and handle samples in accordance to protocol and fill out and maintain chain of custodies. Perform and report calculated sample results and complete data entry into computer.

Qualifications: A.S. Degree in Chem., Bio. or Env. Science with 3 yrs. exp. in a wastewater laboratory or B.S. Degree in Chem., Bio. or Env. Science with 1 yr. exp. in a wastewater laboratory.
